Teams can be a confusing place to be – with the multiple chats, channels, teams and notifications, it can be overwhelming. Not to worry though, Microsoft is rolling out an update that can help clean things up and streamline the app.

In this update, the workspace will change into a simple and easy navigate page. Everything you need will be in one place under the ‘Chat’ menu. This will be your central hub.

In additions, in this update you will be able to change the view into ‘@mentions View’. This view will gather all of your mentions and direct messages into one central area. This could be an incredibly useful feature for you and your business. It will mean that you are able to quickly see any messages or important notifications that might otherwise have been missed.

There will also be new and improves filters and personalisation controls so that you can get the best out of teams. You will be able to filter out the less urgent notifications plus create custom sections to best suit your way of working, for example, you can organise workspace by project or urgency.

Have you ever wanted to be able to access your most important chats and channels  quickly and easily? Now you can with the new ‘Favourite’ feature. This allows you to choose what chats and channels you want to pin for easy access.

A further new feature that will be coming later in 2025 is ‘threaded conversations’. This is when replies to certain messages are grouped together to make it easier to follow the chat without missing any other important messages.

These updates will be available on desktop, android and iOS in the new year.
