It has become the norm to work on our phones as well as our PCs. Many of us will quickly answer an email or take notes on our phones when we are on the go or in a meeting. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to carry on working on the same thing later on your PC though?
Microsoft have once again found a way!
If you often work on your phone as well as your PC, we think you are going to love this new ‘Hand Off’ feature. It is currently in testing but we cant wait to be able to use it ourselves.
Here is the idea: Imagine you are in a meeting or on the train and you start working on something in Microsoft Word or another app on your phone such as excel. Once you get back to your PC you will get a notification pop up asking you if you would like to keep working on the document that you were just on! This allows you to switch between devices quickly and easily.
This feature is made possible by OneDrive’s syncing function. It is already compatible with Android phones, and it is likely going to be able to work for iPhones too but this is yet to be confirmed.
Being able to quickly jump between devices without losing track of work could be incredibly useful. This is especially true if you are often out and about or even if your team works remotely.
Although the ‘Hand Off’ feature hasn’t been rolled out just yet. We believe it has the potential to be a really valuable and useful too for businesses.
