Imagine if your computer could handle tasks just like a real-life assistant – wouldn’t that be amazing? Well, this is exactly what Microsoft is trying to achieve with ‘Windows Agent Arena’. This is their new AI project.

The goal is to create smart virtual assistant that are known as AI agents. They will be able to complete tasks on your computer that could currently be costing you a lot of time. They will be able to conduct repetitive tasks for you such as managing apps or even organising your files.

You might be asking – What is an AI agent? Basically they are a type of artificial intelligence that are designed to interact with your computer. Rather than just giving you information they can perform actions too.  An example of this would be the ability to train an AI agent to run your morning routine. It would open your calendar, launch your email app, check the news and share relevant information with you. Just like a virtual assistant.

The possibilities with this are endless, imagine an AI agent being able to update your software, edit documents, install extensions and more! This will all save you and your business valuable time and save you from the hassle of having to perform these boring tasks  yourself.

Currently the project is currently in development. It is open source which means that may developers from all over the world are able to contribute to help these tools evolve. The potential for businesses is exciting. AI is getting bigger and better!
