Switching IT providers is easier than you've been told.
The fear of switching keeps businesses with the wrong IT company for years. Here's exactly what happens when you move to us, including the parts you never have to touch.
Four stages. One carefully managed move.
We discover what is there, prepare the handover, go live to an agreed plan and stay close while everything settles.
Discovery
We review your current setup, contract, risks and priorities so the service and handover plan start with an accurate picture.
Preparation
We collect access and documentation, contact the existing provider, configure our tools and agree what will change, when and who needs to know.
Go live
Monitoring, support and the agreed controls move across during a suitable window planned around your business, with checks completed before and after the change.
Low-impact follow-through
We help people with sign-ins or security changes, resolve small snags quickly and stay close while the new service settles into normal work.
The things everyone's afraid of (and why they don't happen)
Every business we've moved had the same three fears: losing data, losing days of work, and the awkward breakup conversation. All three are ours to handle, not yours.
Talk through your switch- Your data is yours and moves with you, fully intact
- We deal with your old provider, including the awkward bit
- Changes are planned around your business to keep disruption low
- Notice periods are used for preparation, not wasted
- Fixed monthly fee agreed before you commit
- A named human on hand all through week one
Switching, answered properly
We're mid-contract with our current provider. Can we still switch?
Usually, yes. Most contracts have a notice period rather than a lock-in, and we'll happily read yours and tell you exactly where you stand. If there's a notice period, we use it: all the preparation happens during it, so the day the old contract ends, you're already looked after.
Will we lose access to our emails and files during the switch?
No. Your emails and files belong to you, not your IT provider. Nothing changes until it has been mapped, checked and prepared. We agree a suitable low-usage window around your business and keep the transition controlled.
Do we have to have the awkward conversation with our old provider?
You don't. Once you've given us the nod, we handle the handover directly with them: notice, admin passwords, documentation, domain details, the lot. It's a routine professional process for us, not a confrontation.
What if our old provider won't cooperate or holds our passwords hostage?
It's rarer than you'd fear, and it's manageable. You are legally entitled to your own systems, domains and data. We know exactly what to ask for and in what order, and where necessary we can recover or reset access without their help.
How long does switching actually take?
Typically two to four weeks from "yes" to fully switched, and most of that is waiting out a notice period while we prepare in the background. The change your team notices is usually a short, carefully planned window.
Will it disrupt our team's work?
The honest answer: a little, briefly. Each person typically needs a few minutes to check their login and, where we're improving security, set up multi-factor authentication. We schedule this around your work, walk everyone through it in plain English, and stay on hand that first week.
We have some IT knowledge in-house. How does that work?
Nicely, usually. Plenty of our clients have a capable person who currently absorbs the IT hassle alongside their real job. We take care of monitoring, patching, security and support. They keep whatever involvement they want, with a proper IT department behind them.
What does it cost to switch?
The planning, handover and migration work are part of onboarding, not a surprise invoice. You'll know your fixed monthly fee before you say yes, and that's the number you pay.
