Suffolk & East Anglia

IT support for accountants and financial advisers

More time on client work. Less time chasing IT.

A payroll to run. Working papers to review. A client waiting for advice.

West View IT provides managed IT support for accountancy practices and financial-advice firms across Suffolk and East Anglia. We manage devices, Microsoft 365, phones, connectivity and security, and coordinate with specialist software suppliers when an issue interrupts client work.

Start with the working day

The client deadline stays put when IT stops

The payroll team needs a file that will not open. A partner is waiting for the latest working papers. An adviser has a review meeting, but the client documents are on another computer.

Small interruptions turn into somebody else's task: chase the supplier, resend the file, try another login. We help resolve the problem and address the recurring issues behind it.

Sound familiar?

Where IT adds to the practice workload

01

Records arrive, then get lost in email

Uploads, attachments and working papers end up in different places, leaving colleagues to find the version needed for review.

02

The deadline starts with a sign-in problem

A payroll, VAT or accounts-production task waits while a device or connection is checked.

03

Figures travel through too many spreadsheets

Staff copy information between capture tools, ledgers and practice systems without a clear owner for the handover.

04

Remote work depends on one person

A colleague in the office has to retrieve files so someone at home can finish a task.

05

A trainee leaves, but their access stays

Seasonal staff, trainees and external bookkeepers retain accounts beyond the agreed period.

06

Every supplier points somewhere else

The software helpdesk, internet provider and IT company each see a different part of the problem.

Different roles. Everyday priorities.

Support around accounts, payroll and financial advice

ACCOUNTANCY PRACTICES

Keep client records moving towards review

Working papers, bookkeeping records and accounts-production files need an agreed home. We review access, sharing and the devices around your practice systems so colleagues can reach what they need.

PAYROLL AND QUARTERLY WORK

Plan IT around recurring deadlines

Payroll runs, VAT quarters and Making Tax Digital work create recurring demands. We agree maintenance windows and escalation contacts around your calendar, with your team retaining control of submissions.

FINANCIAL ADVISERS

Keep client reviews properly supported

Fact-finds, suitability reports and review correspondence pass between advisers and support staff. We manage the accounts, devices and document access around that work, with regulatory decisions remaining with your firm.

Understand the work first

Three checks before changing your practice IT

  1. 01

How do client records reach the person doing the work?

We follow a task from collection to review, noting repeated copying, access problems and responsibility for each system.

  2. 02

Who can access each client file?

We review staff, partner and external access, including how permissions change when someone moves role or leaves.

  3. 03

What needs to work before the next deadline?

We identify essential systems, support hours and recovery arrangements before recommending changes.

Security and clear responsibility

Client information needs clear ownership

We help organise access to working papers, payroll files and client correspondence, with protection and recovery arrangements for the services we manage. Your practice decides who may see each record and how long it should be kept.

For financial-advice firms, outsourcing IT does not transfer regulatory responsibilities. We document the agreed technical controls and supplier boundaries so your compliance team can assess them.

Official guidance: HMRC: Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, FCA: outsourcing and operational resilience.

Your practice IT questions

Managed IT support pricing

What IT support do you provide for accountants and financial advisers?

West View IT manages computers, Microsoft 365, phones, connectivity, security and agreed backups. We support the technology around your accounting or advice platforms, with service hours and supplier responsibilities agreed before taking over.

Do you support practices using Sage, Xero, IRIS or TaxCalc?

We support the devices, accounts and connections around these systems. Tax calculations, application faults and product-specific configuration remain with the relevant supplier or your practice team. We establish where an issue sits and coordinate the next step.

Can you help with Making Tax Digital for Income Tax?

We can review devices, access and document workflows around your MTD-compatible software. Your practice handles eligibility, authorisations, records and submissions. Quarterly updates apply to each relevant income source; the workload is not simply five submissions for every client.

Can you reduce copying between practice systems?

We follow a real task and review the connections your software supports. Any changes, permissions and supplier involvement are agreed first. Bespoke integrations are separately scoped.

Do you support financial-advice firms as well as accountants?

Yes. We review the devices, email, document access and connectivity around your advice business. Your firm and its advisers retain responsibility for FCA requirements and the suitability of financial advice.

Is our accounting or advice platform included in Microsoft 365 backup?

Not automatically. That service covers the agreed email and files. A separate accounting, payroll or advice platform needs its own recovery arrangements, which we review with the supplier.

Can you help during payroll runs and filing deadlines?

We agree service hours, escalation contacts and maintenance around your calendar. Additional cover must be agreed in advance; it is not automatically included because a deadline is approaching.

Can you manage access for trainees and external bookkeepers?

Yes. Your practice authorises access. We manage accounts and permissions within our scope and coordinate with platform administrators where they control access.

How do we switch IT provider?

We document your setup, gather access and coordinate with the outgoing provider. Changes that could interrupt client work are planned around deadlines, with recovery steps agreed beforehand.

How much does practice IT support cost?

Cost depends on people, devices, offices, licences, communications and scope. We explain any initial work needed alongside the ongoing service cost.
